Caviar Nails

I had been wanting to try Ciate nail polishes for ages, every time I walk past Kit Cosmetics I lust over them so much. So yesterday I was walking through Myer, spending to much in Mac and walked past this, and in a moment of weakness bought it. It cost $36 (AUS) which I thought was fairly reasonable considering single nail polishes are $20 each.

This is a limited edition one, although I think all the caviar nails might be limited edition, and the caviar pearls are called tutti fruitti and the pale pink nail polish it comes with it called hoopla. And it comes with a little funnel to tip the pearls back bottle when they go everywhere so you don't waste any, Thanks Ciate!

Hoopla and Tutti Fruitti

To do these nails, you put a coat of nail polish on and then one nail at a time put another coat of polish on and tip the beads onto the nail and press them on so they stay on better.

I love the look and feel of these when you first put them on because it's such a novelty to have tiny beads on your nails. However, maybe it was just how I applied them, they started falling off an hour later, but that may have been because I was immersed in the State of Origin and not really concentrating, and also I have a shower 45 minutes after I applied them, Whoops. I think next time I put them on I might do the nails one at a time because I completely blanked and did a couple at a time, which probably didn't help. The one thing I didn't mind about them falling off is that they left a colourful indent in my nails, which is cool and at least they don't just fall off and leave no trace of the pearls on the nails.

I do love these nails, I think they are super fun, but I do think they are only really for special occasions when you won't be using you hands a lot. Having said that, if I applied them better they would last longer. I also love the packaging on the nail polishes, the bows and the shape of the pot are really unique. Overall, these pearls are super fun to play around with and I think they look really cool and put a new twist on painting your nails.

Have you guys tried the nail pearls? How did they work out for you?

The Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty

Today's post is going to be a beauty tag, the seven deadly sins of beauty tag. I was tagged by the lovely Daphne who has an awesome blog that you should all go and check out. This is my first post that I have been tagged to do, how exciting! Lets get started.

Why not incorporate Disney princesses into this tag?

So here's how it works:
1) Follow and link up the person who tagged you
2) Answer the questions on greed, wrath, gluttony, sloth, pride, lust and envy.
3) Tag as many people as you wish! Be sure to let them know!
4) Let the person who tagged you know that you did the tag by linking up in the comments!

Greed- What is your most expensive product?

This a new addition to my collection, but I am so excited to give it ago, considering how much Kate from gh0stparties talks about it. I am hoping that it will hydrate my skin and even out my skin because I have some scarring. I'll do a review on this later.

Sloth- What product do you neglect the most due to laziness?

It has to be eyeshadow, although I am trying to use it more cause what the point of having it if I don't use it? I only really put one colour over the lid still though but maybe eventually I might put more than one colour. I also don't really use bronzer, mostly because I haven't fully worked out how to use it properly yet.

Wrath- What product do you have a love/hate relationship with?

I would say liquid eyeliner is my love/hate product. Some days it can look fairly neat and tidy, well as neat as I can get it, and other days it just goes all over my eyelid and doesn't look good. I have been starting to use gel liner and its definitely easier but I still have those "this is terrible!" days.

Gluttony- What brand makes up most of your make-up collection?
I would have to say that Maybelline and Revlon are tied for the prize of which brand makes up most of my collection. However, I have a lot of make-up from many different brands, I'm not very loyal to brands I just buy whatever I have heard is good or want to try. These two brands just so happen to take up some room in the make-up collection.

Pride- Which product gives you the most confidence?

It has got to be concealer, it can just cover up any imperfection and make me feel so much better. And with my scarring I get so attached to it because it can cover them up. At the moment I am using the Mac studio finish concealer in NW 20 which is a little bit too dark at the moment but otherwise, I love this concealer.

Lust- Which beauty item is at the top of your wish list?

Probably the Laura Mercier silk creme foundation because I hear about how good it is so much and I am constantly on a quest for my perfect foundation. This isn't that expensive compared to some other products you can get but it's $60 here in Australia and I just need to work up the courage to take that much out of already empty bank account.

Envy- What make-up product/look is great on others but not yourself?

I love bold lips and I love the way they look on me, especially corals but I just can't get red lipstick to look good on me. I don't have the whitest teeth so I think I need to find a blue tone red lipstick and see if that helps. I also have trouble with it looking neat because it goes all over my lips and spills out the side, which could also probably be fixed with a liner, but I just haven't gotten around to fixing those problems.

I tag:
Shannon from shannonmaria
Janine from Thee Optimist
Ash from Beautiful Living
Jessi from Jessi in Wonderland
Ana from Ana Vargas blog
Jessica from Miss Forever Vanity
And anyone else who wants to do this tag!
Check out these lovely ladies' blogs while you're at it, they run awesome blogs.

June Bella Box

I've been getting the Bella Box every month for about 8 months now, and while I'm not always totally impressed with them, I still continue hoping that I will get some new stuff to try and also because I love trying new products and coming home after work and ripping into it to see the goodies inside. I received the June box today and I have to say, I am very impressed with this months box even though I was disappointed because when I got home the package I really wanted hadn't arrived. So I thought I would share what I got inside the box.

To start out with, I opened it and immediately say that there was a sigma brush inside, which I have been wanting to try ever since I started watching YouTube videos about make up, It the E25 blending brush so I'm super keen to use that.

Next up, I saw this lip gloss and opened it up and was amazed at how sparkly it was and how pretty it looked in the container. It's a brand called Street Gloss, which I have never heard of before but nice packaging ALWAYS sucks me in. I quickly put it on just so I could write a bit about it, and it looks pretty on the lips and feels really nice on the lips, although it is a bit sticky, but certainly not the most sticky lip gloss I've ever used. Definitely excited about that one.

There is also a red nail polish by Natio which looks really nice, I don't actually have a red nail polish so this is a plus. And I have never tried Natio, has anyone tried it? Is it good quality?

Next up is this Toni & Guy Texturising Glue, I'm not to sure how to use this but by the name I assume it holds you hair in place while building texture. I will interested to see how/if that works.

There is always a face mask by Montsgne Jeunesse which I have tried before, it's alright, I wouldn't say I love it, but I'll give it a go.

.
There is also an assortment of lotions, washes and scrubs by Brazillian Butterfly which will be good to try.

And Lastly, two emergin C products which I haven't heard a lot about but I gather it's quite an expensive brand, so I will give that a go.

All in all, I am really happy with this months box, there is lots of things I am really excited to test and use.

Do you get sample/beauty boxes?

Tv Obsession

I know this is a beauty blog and this isn't a beauty post, but I am a massive fan of TV and I thought I would share a  TV show that I'm currently obsessed with called Cuckoo.

It is a British TV show that stars Andy Samberg who I personally LOVE! It also has the actress who played Emily, Ross's very short-lived wife in Friends. What more could you ask for? Andy plays a character who is very different and unusual or "cuckoo", which just so happens to be the name of the character. What a coincidence! The story line follows a British girl who travels overseas meets and marries Cuckoo to then bring them back to England to live with her parents. It is a really funny and clever show, but anything with Andy Samberg is funny in my opinion, dude is hilarious!

Andy Samberg as Cuckoo

There is only one season so far and it only consists of 6 episodes much to my sadness. Why do British TV shows have to have such short seasons? However, there are more episodes coming out later this year which I am hanging to see.

So how about you guys, what shows are you currently obsessed with?

Soap and Glory

I don't know about you, but I am personally in love with the soap and glory range, its probably my favourite body care brand. They can just create the most amazing smells and create amazing products all wrapped up into one. It you haven't ever smelt any of the soap and glory stuff, you're missing out and you NEED to go smell them. AH-MAZING! I've only tried the the righteous body butter, the flake away body scrub, the clean on me shower gel and the hand food hand cream and I am totally in love with all of them (especially the smell of the clean on me gel).

Unfortunately you can't get the full range of soap and glory products in Australia, mainly because it's a British brand and Australia is SO slow to get new products in. But I do want to try the one heck of a blot powder which I have heard a lot about, so I guess it's off to Ebay to find that!

What are your favourite products from soap and glory? Are you as obsessed with the smells as I am?

John Frieda - Frizz-Ease

Hey Guys!
I haven't used any other products from the Frizz-Ease line, however, I received this in a sample box a few months ago and can safely say that this stuff is awesome. While I don't have particularly frizzy hair, everyone experiences some sort of frizz throughout their life, unless you have perfect hair, in which case you are EXTREMELY lucky. I will use this on days where my hair just isn't doing what I want (which is most days) and have a bit of frizz. This stuff really stops and controls frizz and it's really simple to use, super handy when you are in a rush and don't want to tame the frizz. All you need is a pea size of this product and it manages to de-frizz my hair. However I have quite thin and like I said not overly frizzy hair, so I don't know how much product you would need or if this would work for people with thick and very frizzy hair, but for me, its perfect. This is just the sample size which is a perfect size to fit into your handbag and carry around just in case of a hair emergency like that pesky rain. The other thing I love about this product is the smell, it smells amazing, and I know that if something smells good I am more likely to continue using it.

Have you tried this product? Does it work for you, or is it a complete flop?
Let me know! I love hearing your thoughts.

Sally Hansen - Jaded

The other day my friend and I went into Priceline and I did my best not to spend any money, but we spotted that the Sally Hansen nail polishes were buy one get one free and with a bargain like that, how could you resist? I decided that I didn't have any greeny/bluey nail polishes so I thought I would pick some of those up. One of the colours I picked up was jaded which a minty green colour which I really like, and surprisingly I don't have anything like. I know it is going into winter in Australia at the moment and this really isn't a winter colour  but I still will probably wear it just because it is such a nice colour.

Pro's:
- The colour is really nice
- The finish of the polish is really smooth and shiny
- It dried really quickly (which is awesome because I hate waiting)
- It lasts quite a long time
- I've had it on for a few of days and no chipping at the top like most nail polishes
- Pretty inexpensive ($14.95 AU)

Con's
- The smell is quite strong
- Pretty sheer and takes a few coats to become opaque

Overall I love this nail polish and am defineaely going to try some other Sally Hansen nail polishes soon.

Have you tried the Sally Hansen polishes and do you like them? What is your favourite shade from the range?

My top three lipsticks

There are three lipsticks that I absolutely love and reach for the most. They are, Maybelline Colour Sensational the Vivids in hot plum, Bobbi Brown in plum rose and Revlon Lip Butter in berry smoothie. I am a massive fan of plum and berry colours so surprise surprise these are all plummy colours..
L-R - Maybelline Vivids, Bobbi Brown, Revlon Lip Butter

Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivids - Hot Plum: This is the boldest colour of the three, and the one with a name that doesn't really match the colour. While it looks more plum in the packaging, when you swatch it, it comes out more hot pink. However, I am still totally in love with this colour in every way. It last a fairly long time but you still need need to re-apply throughout the day. If you haven't checked out the range definitely go to your nearest store and check them out, they are sure to brighten your day! I absolutely love the Vivids range, all the colours are so bright and fun and can instantly put me in a good mood, and any lipstick that can do that is a winner in my book!

Bobbi Brown - Plum Rose:  This my favourite winter colour and because its coming into winter in Australia I can finally whip this out and get lots of use out of it. As you can see, I'm a massive fan of the plum colours so when I saw this I was immediately attracted to it. It lasts quite a long time, however like most lipsticks, it does need to be re-applied throughout the day particularly after eating or talking for a long time. This isn't the most moisturising lipstick but it certainly isn't drying, its just the perfect middle ground. The other day I was wearing this at work and a customer asked what brand my lipstick was, so I know that it is a good colour if people want to know where it's from. I will be pulling this lipstick out very regularly over the next couple of months.

Revlon Lip Butter - Berry Smoothie: This lipstick is my favourite of the favourites lipstick, I find myself reaching for this lipstick most days because its such a wearable and versatile colour. As most of you probably know, the lip butters are sheer and moisturising and are almost like a balm rather than a lipstick. I think that's what makes me like it so much, aside from being plum, is that it doesn't really require a lot of effort to put it on, you just slap it on and you're raring to go. It's perfect for day to day make-up when you don't want a tonne of lipstick but still want a pop of colour. It's also a very moisturising lipstick which is perfect for anyone who suffer from dry lips, something that I suffer from. It doesn't have the best long wear on it, but if it's more of a balm texture I wouldn't expect it to. If you haven't checked out the lip butters, I recommend you do, I am in love with them.

What are your favourite lipsticks? Have you tried any of these lipsticks and do you like them?

Current Favourite - Sleek Blush!

My favourite blush at the moment has got to be a Sleek Blush in the colour Pomegranate. I'm sure everyone has heard about the Sleek blushes and how good they are, but they are really good.

I would say that this colour is a raspberry colour with a fair bit of shimmer but it doesn't look to shimmery once you put it on the cheeks.

This blush is the one I reach for the most, mostly because it is such a natural colour and so easy to put on. Sleek blushes do have a reputation for being super super pigmented so you need to use a light hand.

Let me know which blushes you are currently loving at the moment.
